I am a Dean's List graduate from the University of British Columbia with a 4.0 GPA and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia with a Major in French and a Major in Spanish. I am currently completing my TESOL certificate (Teaching English as a Second Language) and will be pursuing my Masters soon.
Experience
I have over nine years of experience working with international and local students of all ages - adults and children. My past and current students have described my sessions as “fun and easy to understand,” I am confident that you too will enjoy your sessions with me. Because of my personal experience and training in second language acquisition, I know first hand the difficulties that arise when learning a new language. In addition to relating to your language goals, I will also help you design an academic plan to achieve your desired success. With these experiences, I have become very comfortable in communicating with people from different cultures, and anticipating and addressing their specific needs. I am flexible and have the ability to adapt to change in a professional, but fluid manner. In addition, I have developed excellent computer and organizational skills, have strong research skills, and use an extensive array of professional reference materials. I am patient, positive, organized, punctual, and have the ability to anticipate a student’s needs and questions. I have a very flexible schedule and hope to have an ongoing working relationship with my students. However, if you need just one or two sessions, that’s not a problem either! I have enjoyed working with many students from all areas of the world and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting on Skype and working with you soon!
